Honorable Mayor Cline and Council Members:

Years ago the City of Menlo Park provided a booklet entitled Menlo Park
Wish List. It contained a number of options for citizens, businesses and
others to voluntarily fund a number of worthwhile and needed amenities in and
around town.
The amenities included such things as
1) Playground equipment for special needs kids (equipment which is needed
and would be helpful),
2) Park benches, which are in short supply, such as Bedwell-Bayfront Park,
3) Funds to lock the Police Chief up for an hour, to go for law
enforcement programs,
and so forth
It was wildly successful. Menlo Park is a generous community, who values
highly the quality of life offered here and in nearby cities.
As such, would you, the Community Services Department, Economic Development
Department or others consider providing this wonderful opportunity again?
I think you will be pleasantly surprised on how much can be accomplished.
