We hope you can make the 6^th Annual Silicon Valley Bike Summit August 11.

Our interview with Keynote speaker, Kate White (https://bikesiliconvalley.org/2016/07/svbc-bike-summit-interview-keynote-speak-kate-white/) , Deputy Secretary for Environmental Policy and Housing Coordination at the California State Transportation Agency, provides a sneak peek of some of the topics that will be covered by her and other Caltrans staff at the beginning of the day.

Also on the program: Menlo Park and Davis planners will dive into case studies on building protected intersections and bike lanes, and City of San Jose reps will update us on the progress of Vision Zero San Jose. In addition, hear from public agency reps, a consultant, and a community partner on how to quickly test out innovative bike projects to make progress fast.

Last chance for award nominations! We are accepting nominations (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1veXsITXKLBEzmR3lN5X0ILEvLEkhLcr-IVkU1iLG-VA/viewform) until July 31 for three awards: Public Official of the Year, Infrastructure Project of the Year, and Non-infrastructure Project of the Year. Tell us your favorites by July 31 here (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1veXsITXKLBEzmR3lN5X0ILEvLEkhLcr-IVkU1iLG-VA/viewform) .

Bike to the Summit! Take an active mode – walk, bike, bus, take transit or carpool — to the Bike Summit and be entered into a biannual drawing for prizes, thanks to the San Mateo County Spare the Air Resource Team (http://sparetheair.org/Get-Involved/Your-Community/Resource-Teams/San-Mateo.aspx) ! SVBC will be leading a BikePool from Mountain View Caltrain station at approximately 9:10 am on the Stevens Creek Trail. There will also be two BikePools after the event ends. See more information here. (https://bikesiliconvalley.org/silicon-valley-bike-summit-2016-transportation-options/)

Win a bike! We will also hold a drawing for a brand new bike at the end of the day, thanks to the Santa Clara County Spare the Air Resource Team (http://sparetheair.org/get-involved/your-community/resource-teams/santa-clara) – stay through the social hour and have a chance to win!

See you there!
