Pop-up park

I am not sure why the idea of those pop-up parks that block the side streets in town keeps surfacing every year. If anyone spent anytime during the week seeing who frequents that park, you would quickly realize that is definitely not people who patronize the local shops and restaurants. It is not adding anything at all to the local economy.
In fact, the hassle it creates in terms of accessing parking only stops people like me from my daily Starbucks run, trips to Walgreens etc. I now do both elsewhere.
It seems to be one of those ideas that will actually do the opposite of its intent. I hope it is removed soon.
