Correction re 7/11 Community meeting

Council Members:
My email yesterday included incorrect information regarding Monday's 6 p.m. Planning Commission meeting. The one hour community meeting is on the General Plan Draft E.I.R. which has a July 15 deadline for submission of public comments.

> "The Planning Staff finally scheduled a community meeting to hear the public's concerns about the impacts of the Facebook Expansion but alas, this one and only meeting occurs 30 minutes AFTER the close of public comments on the Facebook D.E.I.R."

Overlapping the General Plan and the Facebook Draft E.I.R.s has been confusing and burdensome for both the Planning Dept. and the public. Why have these two processes been pushed through in the dead of summer when the Council is on leave? This week the City offices were open only 3 days due to the 4th of July holiday and the City's schedule of every other Friday closure.

Your City needs you. Meeting only twice a month and sometimes only once a month when your Staff is processing some 2 million sq.ft. of commercial development in a single year speaks of a detachment not seen in a Menlo Park Council in many years.
