Thank you Nicole.  I can assure you that there ARE big trucks going down the city of MP's roads via Alpine Road.>

Menlo Park Police Department consistently enforces truck route permits, and we will coordinate with them to alert them of your concerns.   Thank you, Nikki   Nicole H. Subject: CONSTRUCTION SEMIS ON ALPINE ROAD   This morning there was a whole platoon  of double semis careening down Alpine and through Stanford Weekend Acres at high rates of speed.  They were headed into Menlo Park: one went down the Alameda and the other down Santa Cruz Avenue.  Alpine was not the shortest route: Sand Hill was.  Using two lane, winding Alpine Road  with many intersections and driveways, for this type of vehicle is highly dangerous. It would be helpful if the Planning depts, when approving construction projects, identified the appropriate truck route and issued truck permits for Sand Hill, not Alpine since these vehicles create an ultrahazardous situation for residents, commuters, and most particularly for cyclists.  There has already been one cyclist fatality on Alpine involving Randazzo Trucking, another is likely to occur unless the City and County do something to limit and control these large trucks servicing construction sites in West Menlo Park (and Atherton)
