Re: Threatened oaks at VA Hospital

Thank you for you email.

We have reached out the the VA to understand their plans and determine the extent of any tree removals. I don't have the details at this time and hope to have more information next week.

Unfortunately, since the VA hospital is on federal land, the City doesn't have jurisdiction regarding any potential tree removals. However, we will continue to reach out and voice the concerns that we have heard and see if there are alternatives.

If you have any further questions please let me know.

Thank you,

Chip Taylor

Assistant City Manager

City of Menlo Park

The clock is ticking ~ is anyone on City Council going to respond to the emails you've received about the VA's plans to destroy a large number of heritage oaks at the Menlo Park hospital site?
