Oak trees

Dear City Council and VA,
I understand that the VA is considering cutting down a number of
heritage oak trees for 'recreation area'. These trees are likely more
than 200 - 300 years old and provide valuable wildlife habitat, shade
and water stabilization. Please ensure that you have received an
environmental review and permit and please consider alternatives to this
action. We in Menlo Park have seen the VA build on alot of open space
in the past ten years. It is time to stop.
Thank you,
Penny
