Gilbert & Central intersection

Accidents at this intersection are often reported in the Next Door Willows
neighborhood group.

I understand that there will be discussion about putting in a four-way stop
sign at a City Council meeting (I think on June 7th, when we will be out of
town). I mentioned that a "Cross Traffic Does Not Stop" warning sign could
be effective. It was favorably received by several on the Next Door group.
I would propose a trial of this simpler approach. A stop sign might have
unintended consequences: as another poster wrote "Right now during the
afternoon rush hour cars back up on Central because they (some) have to
wait for the non stopping Gilbert traffic. Put in the Gilbert stop sign and
more cars will becoming down Central cause there won't be a back up. Just
what we need."

Please consider this alternative at your meeting.

Thank you,
