Bike lane concerns

I am writing very concerned about the bike lane proposal before the city council.

Traffic on El Camino is a great problem in Menlo Park. Simply trying to get from point a in Menlo park to point b in Menlo park is horrendous in Menlo park as there are fewer lanes in Menlo park than Palo Alto and Atherton, thereby creating a terrible bottleneck.

The city needs to consider changes. However, not the changes currently before the council.

This issue affects citizens and merchants (who bring in revenue for the city). The number of bike commuters and lobby is not representative of the community of the Menlo park

Removing 'heritage' trees should not be the deciding factor. The El Camino corridor has added numerous trees to the corridor over the past 16 years. The greater good for the citizens of the city is eliminating the bottleneck on El Camino

An issue this large and important should be put before the citizens of Menlo park as a ballot issue rather to ensure that impact for all is considered.
