Proposed Bike Lanes on ECR

Gentlemen and Mesdames,

I live at 4 Oliver Court in Menlo Park and I write regarding the proposal before you to add bike lanes to ECR in Menlo Park. I am 99 years old and - no - I no longer drive (my wife does ), but I ridalong; and I have a helluva lot of experience with evaluating bad ideas - a lawyer since 1940 (go figure) and a Superior Court Judge both Active and Retired since 1970 (go figure again!) - and I have Never, Ever read about nor heard anything so wrongheaded, stupid, or worse than the idea to narrow the travelled surface of ECR (already jammed beyond its capacity) to provide bike lanes. Sorry bike riders there are just too many people who use this route to crowd them more so as to provide for you. And you have to find an alternative. That’s the way it is folks and you’ll have to make the best of it.

Please, Council Members, give the idea of bike lanes on ECR through Menlo Park a decent burial now!
