Cuckoo's Nest Public Comment

Mr. Perata,

I saw the article in today's Daily Post and would like to offer the following comment. With regard to residents of the North Palo Alto who have reservations regarding the Cuckoo's Nest and the permit the operators of the Cuckoo's Nest are seeking, they seem to claim that the disturbance relative to noise and air pollution will effect their quality of life and the value of their properties. You may also recall many years back that it was residents of this neighborhood that were instrumental in having the Palo Alto City Council prohibit the alignment of Sand Hill Road and Alma Street (as it crosses El Camino Real) that would allow the flow of traffic eastward from Sand Hill to Alma and the flow of traffic westward from Alma to Sand Hill Road. The result is the current configuration, nicknamed the "Merry-Go- Round" where traffic from Alma must drive north on El Camino and make a u-turn at Cambridge. This has been and will continue to be an incredible burden that Palo Alto has placed on the El Camino traffi
c flow and on Menlo Park and I suggest that no consideration should be given to the comments of North Palo Alto residents and the City of Palo Alto until the "Merry-Go-Round" is eliminated, and proper and efficient traffic flow has been restored at this intersection.
