Train Quiet Zone

Hi,

I am writing in support of creating a quiet zone for the Menlo Park train station. We live in between the two Atherton intersections where horns are blown continuously, and it can be debilitating at certain times of the day. We knew this would be an issue when we purchased our house, but how and when the engineers choose to blow the horn varies greatly, with some who blow the horn non-stop from one intersection to the other. Also, we hear the train horns frequently in the middle of the night during six-month “testing” periods that interrupt the sleep of hundreds of people.

While I don’t imagine we personally will benefit as much from a quiet zone in MP, We are in complete support of reducing the unnecessary and outdated horn blowing for urban areas in general.

Thanks for your service to the community.
