Oak Grove/University Bike Boulevard Proposal

I would like to voice my support for the Menlo Park Bicycle Commission's
proposal for a bike boulevard through downtown Menlo Park. It is important
for the city to do more than pay lip service to bicycle safety and to
support this alternative form of transportation. Until it is safer for
students to commute on our streets, car traffic from parent drop offs will
continue and even increase with added enrollments, thus making it more
risky for young people as well as adults to bike on these routes. Though
parking spaces may be reduced, the need for those spaces will be decreased
with fewer car trips by people like myself who will feel comfortable on a
bike when afforded a bike lane.
Thank you for your consideration.
