Please support priced parking for downtown Menlo Park

Dear Mayor Carlton, City Council Members, Planning Commissioners, and staff,

I am a longtime resident of Menlo Park.

It's wonderful to see the city's commitment to improving our community and
supporting the Climate Action Plan goals.

As you consider the General Plan update and downtown area plan review, I
want to express my support for measures to further address climate and

The principal of these is a priced parking program. Most cities around us
already have these.

It sends the wrong message to subsidize drivers for driving and parking in
Menlo Park, and the right message to put a price on parking in our downtown

If we are serious about cutting back on congestion and emissions, we need to
put priced parking in place.

I also support the following climate-friendly measures:

. Sustainable building standards

. Clean energy incentives

. Electric vehicle charging stations

. Better bike and pedestrian paths

. A ban on single use bottles and cans at all events held on city

Thanks for listening,

Janelle London
