Proposals for bike lanes on El Camino

Menlo Council:

whether to eliminate parking and add a lane of auto traffic to El Camino Real in Menlo Park.
2 whether to eliminate parking and add a bike lane.
3 whether to eliminate parking and add a buffered bike lane.
4 Or whether to leave ECR as it is now. [Note that adding a right-hand turn lane at
Ravenswood has been budgeted but is not factored into the current discussion, and should relieve traffic northbound.]

I strongly suggest option 4.

While I support creating safe opportunities for bicyclists, attempting to do this on El Camino in Menlo Park
only, without neighboring communities joining in the effort. will gain very little and put a lot of bike riders and motorists at
risk.

My experience with traffic studies has been that a lot of money gets spent on Consultants and residents suffer a lot
of the unintended consequences.....
