Bike lanes

Dear Council,

I am an avid bicyclist. Tomorrow morning I will ride the 65-mile Tour de Menlo. I am opposed to a bike lane on ECR.

It’s a really bad idea.

There will be a significant number of accidents from bicyclists versus cars entering ECR from driveways and side streets.

Some of those side streets have a significant amount of traffic. Some of those drivers are in a hurry and are not paying attention.

Not all of my bicycling colleagues stop or even slow down at intersections. Nobody slows down at a driveway.

There has to be a better plan for north-south bicycle traffic in Menlo Park because this plan is a blueprint for disaster.
