ECR traffic lane

Council members,
Traffic is a terrible situation on El Camino and will become worse as more development is coming to Menlo Park, Redwood City and Palo Alto. Let’s allow for three lanes of traffic, one of which can be bike sharing as we do in other parts of the City. Has anyone ever counted the very few bikers that use El Camino in Redwood City, Atherton, Menlo Park and Palo Alto? Answer: You can count the number of daily bikers on El Camino on one hand.
Anyone thinking of coming to downtown MP via El Camino just say ‘No’ due to the congestion. Please ‘open up El Camino, not ‘strangle it’.
I am hard pressed why opening a third lane on ECR will create additional traffic approx 70% per consultants. Where are they diverting from, if from Alameda del las Pulgas or Middlefield Rd. that’s great.
