The VA Palo Alto Health Care System would like to invite you to our
annual Mental Health Summit on Friday, September 11, 2015, from 12:30 -
4:30pm, at our Menlo Park campus. We hope you and/or a representative

dialogue on how we as a community can address the mental healthcare

Meeting the Mental Health Needs and Enhancing the Well-Being of Veterans
and Their Family Members
On behalf of the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, we would like to
invite you and your organization to participate in our upcoming Mental
Health Summit on Friday, September 11, 2015 from 12:30 - 4:30pm.
The purpose of the Mental Health Summit is to meet the mental health
needs and enhance the well-being of Veterans and their family members
through increased collaboration between the VA and the community.
Our goal for the Summit is to provide an opportunity for an active
dialogue on how we as a community can address the mental healthcare
needs of Veterans and their families.
Mental health and well-being is affected by a wide variety of issues and
the Summit will provide the opportunity to discuss many of these,
* The new and evolving Veteran's Choice Act and how it can
provide veterans with access to community services.
* Services for Veterans' families and the VA Caregiver Support
* Urgent care needs for veterans for problems such as high risk
mental health issues and homelessness.
The objectives for the Summit include:
* Sharing of information about services available through the VA
and in the community.
* Identifying ways in which the VA and community partners can
interact more effectively to serve Veterans and their families.
* Developing a plan for continually renewing and expanding
partnerships between the VA and community organizations, agencies and
