Fwd: No bike lanes on ECR!!!!!!

From: domainremoved <>

We need walk/bike bridges OVER el camino NOT lanes beside it!!!!!!
We have plenty of ways to get to town/schools already. What we need are bike bridges that connect east and west Menlo so we don't have to go near el camino! I don't know what crazy person would ever wxnt to have their kid ride their bike on el camino real ! Seriously! Read more info below?

>>>> As someone who drives on el camino real from Menlo park to Belmont and then all the way back to los altos for work everyday am and pm I can tell you I am an expert on el camino real.
>>>> Traffic flows just fine from Atherton to redwood city until Woodside road and then from whipple through to Belmont. Also runs fine from middle in Menlo all the way to los altos . Crowded sometimes but always flowing. Where it is HORRIBLE is from middle to val paraiso in Menlo park and from Woodside road to whipple in RWC.. Why is that?? BECAUSE THERE ARE ONLY TWO lanes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only a few are actually crazy enough to bike on ECR. There are plenty of other ways to get through these cities on a bike. We shouldn't be encouraging people to put there lives in danger biking on ECR when people are stressed out and pissed as it is. I am also an avid biker and bike everywhere I can in Menlo. The last thing I want for my kids or myself is to bike on ECR!!! If you want to help the bikers put an overhead or underground bridge at oak grove and middle to connect us safely to the other side of the train tracks! That would Encourage families to bike to the various games and practices at Burgess and safely get to school at HillView and Menlo Atherton High school. That alone would alleviate a lot of traffic within Menlo.
>>>> Honestly this wasted time and money on putting bike lanes on ECR is a complete joke! Not to mention dangerous! Has anyone even asked for a bike lane on ECR??
>>>> The majority of people biking in Menlo are kids on their way to and from school. Don't you think we should make it as safe as possible and encourage people to do that as much as we can??
