Santa Cruz Ave. parking

Dear Menlo Park Council Members,

SANTA CRUZ AVENUE NEEDS SIDEWALKS

SANTA CRUZ AVENUE NEEDS BICYCLE LANES

SANTA CRUZ AVENUE NEEDS STREET PARKING

The city of Menlo Park owns the land that will allow for all three, plus the existing 3 lanes of traffic. If the city wants to add sidewalks and enlarge the bike lanes, they need to use the land that they own, and not eliminate parking. It is unfortunate that a very few trees will be taken down, but trees can be replanted, and they do not last forever.

We bought our home on Santa Cruz Ave. over 40 years ago. We live on a narrow flag lot, so have always asked our guests to park on the street. Now we, and most of our friends, are in our 70ís.

Where are guests supposed to park?

Where are gardeners, who now park on the street, supposed to park?

Iím in a group of 6 women, about my age who meet regularly at my house. Where are they supposed to park?

PLEASE DO NOT ELIMINATE PARKING ON SANTA CRUZ AVENUE.

Sincerely,
Mary Andeen
