Dear Ms. Robinson, the agenda for Tuesday's meeting is being amended to add a regular business item which will allow for a full discussion by the Council. The staff report and revised agenda will be posted to the City's web site today.

Thank you for your continued involvement on the Dumbarton Rail Project.

Kent Steffens
Interim City Manager

I was happy to see that the Dumbarton Rail Project is on the Agenda for Tuesday night. However, I noticed that it is listed as a presentation. I would hope that SamTrans' presentation would be followed by council discussion and a direction to city staff to prepare a report on a proposed resolution. The next Dumbarton PAC meeting is June 19th and it is imperative that Menlo Park take an official position before that date. There is mounting pressure from certain members of that Committee to take bus options off the table and to push forward with the project whatever the cost and without giving serious consideration to alternatives or mitigation measures. I'm a big proponent of commuter transit, but we need to make sure that this project is done right.

Best,

Susan Robinson
Menlo Park Representative on the Dumbarton Rail Corridor Citizen
Advisory Panel
