Dear Mayor Fergusson & Council Members,
Please review the attached letter regarding the decision to utilize strict
interpretation of the gross floor area and how this change affects the
construction of a 300 sf deck enclosure we thought we would be building this summer.
Changing the local interpretation which has been in affect longer than the
20 years I have been managing the Quadrus property seems somewhat unfair.
Clear direction is appreciated, but I believe the planning department has made
sound decisions about what can or cannot be excluded from the square footage
calculation and their decisions have been consistent over the years.
I would be happy to answer any questions you may have and look forward to
your response.
