Dear Colleagues,
Last week I adjourned our city council meeting in the memory of Hon. Lou
Papan who served the Peninsula in the California Legislature with
distinction for more than two decades. While Menlo Park was not within
the strict boundaries of his district, he was a strong supporter of the
vitality in our entire region. On behalf of all of us, I extend both
our sympathies and our appreciation to his family.
Contributions in his memory may be made to the scholarship fund named
for his son who preceded him in death:
John Papan Memorial Scholarship
444 Green Hills Drive
Millbrae, CA 94030
Despite our appreciation for Mr. Papan's legacy, Menlo Park as a city
doesn't contribute to the fund because our city does not lie within his
former district. However, I hope you will join me as individuals in
contributing as a tribute to his years of public service.

Mayor
