Ladies and Gentlemen: It is the poor planning of Caltrain Staff and its
refusal in the past to acknowledge
all of the stakeholders that are now having serious repercussions.
Environmental issues of air and noise pollution has been at the bottom
of your list of priorities, when they should have been studied, in
depth,
and mitigated when you took over the railroad.
Since millions - no billions - of dollars have already been wasted there
is no point in now trying to re-invent the wheel by bringing in
outsiders until the state has finished its soon-to-be revealed plans for
the whole transportation system in the Bay Area.
Surely the huge Caltrain staff is capable of tweaking scheduling, if any
is possible. The system should be changed completely because it is not
compatible with the quality of life needs of most of us. In fact, it
is harmful.
sincerely, Win Smith, Menlo Park
