Utility Users Tax

Dear City Council:

Please, do NOT do the Utility Users Tax. My mom & I did not vote for the Utility Users Tax. My mom & I have lived in Menlo Park for 45 years. My mom is 73 years old and owns the house for 44 years. My mom has had a stroke for the pass 12 years and is on a low fixed income. I'm currently unemployed, since I have to take care of my mom. My mom gets the discounts on the phone & PG&E. So, the Utility Users Tax would counter-act the discounts on her phone & PG&E. Utility Users Tax hurts fix income & low income people. It's like taking from the poor to pay for programs that can be cut instead. Since, there was a surplus budget and not a deficit, then do not do the Utility Users Tax. If people had known about the surplus budget, then the measure would not have pass.

  Thank-you,
Robert (son) & Natalia (mother) Mancuso
  Nova Lane, Menlo Park
