Please support Safeway's request for building color change

Dear Mayor Fergusson and Honorable Menlo Park City Council,

As a member of the Safeway/Neighborhood Working Group, I am writing
to support Safeway's request to change their color scheme from the
original color palette presented with their project plan. (Please
note that I am not writing on behalf of the Working Group.)

The Planning Commission did an excellent job last week reviewing the
staff report describing the list of changes. They had good questions
for Safeway representatives and made a thoughtful addition of a
safety barrier between the parking lot and eating area.

The change they did not approve was the request for variation in the
palette of colors for the outside of the store. Since the request is
in line with some branding changes Safeway is making and consistent
with colors they are using on the inside of the store, I urge you to
grant this request. The architecture and new signage will suit the
new color palette and their desire to make alterations to their
building color is a decision I believe should be left up to Safeway
in this particular case.

Thank you for your consideration of this matter.
