Hello,

My name is Terence Brown. I am a proud native of the East Palo Alto,
Menlo Park area. Throughout my years in life Vanessa has been a go to
person for me. She was my first and last recreational basketball coach
at the Onetta Harris Community Center, but more than that , she has been
close to me such as my family would be. Vanessa needs to stay right
where she is, you will be doing a disservice to the community of East
Palo A lot, and Menlo Park if you were to move her to burgess. I f
staffing is an issue, please have the students who need the college
credits moved to a new program. This is an easy solution, Vanessa is
well qualified to handle inner city youth, and helped them blossom to
prominent members of their community. She did this by holding us
accountable for our actions, because in the real world that is what you
experience. This is what she has done for me and group of several
others. Not only did she teach us about basketball, but about life and
the value of a great education. The programs and the leadership she put
forth kept us off the streets, kept us hungry for more. She established
reading programs for us, tutoring programs for us, retreats for us.. All
of these events assisted in forming a lifelong friendship, recognizable
bond which was recognized by a COMMUNITY. A community which will be
forever saddened if the support she provides was to leave.

Please re-evaluate your decision o move Vanessa to Burgess Park.
Although, Burgess is a great community, Vanessa is NEEDED at the Onetta
Harris Community Center. Thank you.
