FYI: I will be contacting AAA to see if they are interested in hosting a
program on eco-trips.

I want to thank each of you for your enthusiastic response to Kepler's
Go-Green Proposal. Within 48 hours of my last email I heard from nearly
every one. THANK YOU!

To recap:

This summer, Kepler's will organize a series of events, held weekly,
entitled "Go-Green". This series will be hosted by Kepler's and
co-hosted by your respective organizations.

Objective: Take a leadership role in improving our local environment and
creating a healthier community; create a program that creates a reason
to come to Menlo Park.

Actions: Work with key influencer's (you!) in the community to develop a
compelling set of programs.

Some Details:
1. Series will be held this summer and we hope that each of you will be
interested in spear-heading one topic
2. Series will be tie into the nationwide Cool City initiative
3. In addition to your organizations, we will invite related
organizations to each program -- i.e. "table displays, etc. will be
offered to participating organizations
4. All programs will be held on the same day of the week for 8 or 10
weeks. We would work with the local merchants to drive interest for Bay
Area residents to visit Menlo Park on that day and evening and see that
the involvement extends beyond Kepler's. For example: Early Bird
Specials that feature locally grown food; the hardware store,
Wallgreens, etc. featuring environmentally friendly products; the
grocery stores highlighting locally grown products and green products;
the Church's talking about the importance of carrying for our
environment, etc.
5. To enhance #4, Kepler's would offer a mix of music, open mic and art
showings on the plaza, after each program.
6. Kepler's, of course, will also be featuring authors and books related
to this subject
7. We would like to explore securing banners down El Camino Real
featuring this series; We will work with all of you to widely market
this series.

Next steps:
1. If you have any other group to recommend for this series, please send
an email to me.
2. "Getting us all together"
Please mark your calendars for Thursday, March 1.
Pam Grange will be sending you an email announcing a call-in number for
us to discuss this program.
The call will be scheduled to start at noon and to end at 1:15.
When you receive the notice you will be asked to confirm your attendance.

Thank you again for your interest and support.

I look forward to talking to you,

Anne Banta
