805 Evergreen Use Permit Hearing Tonight

From: Nancy Serrurier <nhbs_at_(domain_name_was_removed)>
Date: Tue Feb 06 2007 - 16:40:07 EST

Dear Kelly, John, Andy, Richard and Heyward:

I'm writing to ask you to please look closely at the building being
proposed at 805 Evergreen St, and think hard if this serves the
community's interest. I hope you'll agree that it's an oversized
building intended for a substandard, narrow lot, and deny the use
permit. The neighbors, led by Phil and Marcia Friedly, have quite
legitimate concerns, and wish to work with the owners to develop a 2-
story design which respects the light needs and daylight plane issues
that come with homes near each other. Regardless of what the owner's
lawyers say, the neighbors are asking for "smart" development, not
"no" development.

You may ask why I care... although Greg and I live on Berkeley
Avenue in the Menlo Oaks neighborhood, we own a small Eichler at 645
Evergreen, where my parents live during the summer, and we rent
(below market rate) to Stanford Fellows or teachers during the school
year. We appreciate it's West Menlo location on a street with houses
appropriately sized and situated for their lots. Tall lot line
hugging buildings would dramatically change the quality of life for
existing residents on this street.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

Nancy Serrurier
