Dear Menlo Park City Council Members,

My wife and I are applicants for a use permit at 805 Evergreen Street.
Our application was approved unanimously by the Planning Commission on
Dec. 18th, 2006. It was subsequently appealed to the City Council by
our next door neighbors, Mrs. Marie Traub and Mr. and Mrs. Philip
Friedly. It is currently scheduled to be heard at the February 6th City
Council meeting.

During the Planning Commission process, most of the commissioners made a
visit to view our property firsthand. We believe they found it
extremely helpful, because it put our project into context as it relates
to the existing landscaping and surrounding homes. Also, we believe it
helped them accurately assess potential impacts of our proposed
construction on the neighbors' privacy and solar access. In addition,
we have created a 3D computer model of the proposed home that we can
show you. It helps greatly in visualizing the home.

Therefore, we would like to invite you to arrange a mutually convenient
time for you to visit our property and review our proposed project.

We look forward to hearing form you.

Sincerely,

Robert and Sharon Hasslen
