Annual Meeting reminder!

From: * Carole Self <Carole_at_(domain_name_was_removed)>
Date: Mon Jan 22 2007 - 20:13:45 EST

We hope you will be able to make it to the Bureau's Annual Meeting
Luncheon on Monday, January 29th at The Westin S.F. Airport, One Old
Bayshore Highway, Millbrae, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. If you haven't
RSVP'd yet, please do so as soon as possible this week!

Feel free to email <mailto:carole@smccvb.com> carole@smccvb.com or call
650-348-7600. $65.00 per person or $650 for a table of 10 (prime
seating). Check, VISA or MasterCard are accepted.

In addition to inducting the Bureau's 2007 officers, the program will
feature updates on the county's crops, current challenges for our
growers, and our "San Mateo County: As Fresh as it Gets" program. A
representative from the U.S. Department of Commerce will also make a
presentation.

Not only will fresh, local cuisine be served at the luncheon, including
fresh San Mateo County seafood and vegetables grown in the county, but
local wines and beer and garlic artichoke bread from Arcangeli's in
Pescadero will also be featured. A table will be adorned with a "still
life" of local floral products from The Nurserymen's Exchange and
produce from local farms. Meeting attendees will receive the latest
information on local seafood and produce and where to purchase it, and
will see slides featuring local farmers, fishermen, nurserymen and
award-winning local chefs.

The freshness theme of the meeting is in keeping with the major
cooperative effort between the San Mateo County Convention & Visitors
Bureau and San Mateo County Farm Bureau, with the cooperation of the San
Mateo County Harbor District, to educate restaurant chefs, owners and
area residents about our fresh local foods, floral products, wine and
beer, and to reward and promote the restaurants that make a point of
buying and serving these products.

The new San Mateo County: As Fresh as it Gets Cookbook created by the
Bureau with recipes from area restaurant and hotel chefs, growers and
fishermen, will also be sold at the meeting.
