Dear Menlo Park City Council,
The lack of affordable healthcare is a crisis for many individual in
the state of California. We are a 501(3) (c) non-profit organization
which does community outreach and education to help reach individuals
who cannot afford costly medications. All of our costs are supported by
grants and donations. Along with working to educate and partner with
various health clinics, organizations, state and local agencies, we also
provide free personal assistance to individuals. We provide a
comprehensive assessment and help connect people in need to resources
which provide free prescription drugs through various Pharmaceutical
programs. We will help guide them through the process and provide
ongoing support to both patients and their physicians. We help take the
financial and emotional burden off those in need at no cost to
Employers, Organizations, and County, State, or Federal resources. This
in turn will save the State, County, Cities millions of dollars as the
cost of the medication is absorbed by the Pharmaceutical Companies. We
recognize the need that San Mateo has with between 60,000-88,000
uninsured and hope to be able to reach out to the all citizens in the
county who are in need. These programs are for everyone whether they are
employed, unemployed, elderly, disabled, or underinsured. Qualification
is largely based upon income. Typically those who qualify make to much
to qualify for Medical, but are having a hard time covering the costs of
their medications.
We are doing a presentation on 1/27/07 in Millbrae at the Annual
Health & Wellness Fair, Millbrae Community Center, 477 Lincoln Circle,
Millbrae, CA. (9:00a.m. - 3:p.m.), and would look forward to meeting you
and discussing what we can do for your community. .
Warm Regards,
Carrie Maloney, RN
